University of Uyo Basic Studies and Pre-Degree programmes admission for 2019/2020 academic session closes in two days.
Qualified applicants who are yet to applied are hereby advised to do so in he/her own interest.


University of Uyo Basic Studies Programme
The basic studies programme of University of Uyo, (Uniuyo), is a one-year programme designed to prepare students for the examinations of Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)  which offered qualified students admission into 200 level degree programmes available in the institution through Jamb Direct Entry.

The programme is available for all faculties in the University of Uyo.
Available faculties are: 
  1. Arts and Humanities
  2. Basic Medical Sciences
  3. Business Administration
  4. Clinical Sciences
  5. Education
  6. Early Childhood
  7. Engineering
  8. Environmental Studies
  9. Law
  10. Pharmacy
  11. Science
  12. Social Science.
Requirements:
  • Candidates are required to have a minimum of five (5) credits including English Language and any four (4) other subjects relevant to their course of study obtained at not more than two (2) sittings at the SSCE/WASCE, GCE O/L/NECO and NABTEB. 
  • Admission into the programme is usually through a University screening test. Please note that this year it will be a computer-based test (CBT). At the end of the programme, successful candidates of the JUPEB examination will be admitted into 200 level in various degree courses in the University of Uyo provided they satisfy the admission criteria for such courses.
NOTE: JAMB Score is not required for admission into this programme.  for the UTME 2019  Candidates can also apply as there will be no supplementary application for this programme.

How to apply: 

Eligible candidates should pay a non-refundable deposit in the sum of N15, 500.00 (fifteen thousand five hundred naira) only via the University Portals

  3. Select e-Form(s) Option
  4. Select Basic Studies as the Admission Form Type
  5. Enter your Phone Number, Name and Email
  6. Click the PAY NOW button to make payment
  7. Payment can be make online or Bank branch
  8. After payment return to the online portal and click on Register Link to complete your Registration
Note:
  • The same passport photograph used for the online registration will be used during the Screening Exercise and for registration after the offer of admission.
  • No complaint of wrong Bio-Data or blank photograph will be entertained after submission.
  • Candidates who up-load wrong bio-data will automatically be disqualified.



Admission into a one-year pre-degree programme of University of Uyo for 2019/2020 academic session
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into a one-year Pre-Degree Programme in the following Faculties in the University of Uyo for the 2019/2020 academic year;
  1. Faculty of Agriculture
  2. Faculty of Science
  3. Faculty of Education
REQUIREMENTS
  • Admission into the Pre-Degree programme will be through a computer-based test (CBT)
  • Candidates must possess credit in at least five (5) “O” level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Agricultural Science is accepted in place of Biology for Agricultural Education and Agriculture candidates only), at not more than two sittings in the SSCE (WAEC/NECO, GCE or NABTECH).
  • Candidates seeking admission into programmes in the Faculty of Agriculture should possess at least five (5) “O” Level Credit passes in NECO, WASC/GCE including Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics, English Language and any one of Economics, Geography or Physics. At least a Pass in Physics is acceptable.
  • Candidates for admission into Agricultural Education must possess five (5) “O” Level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology (or Agricultural Science), Mathematics and any other subject.
  • Candidates for admission into Home Economics Education should possess five “O” Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subject.
NOTE: JAMB score is not required for admission into this programme.
